Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC)

Rashtriya Military Schools (RMS)
1. Introduction
Rashtriya Military Schools are English-medium residential schools run by the Ministry of Defence, offering quality education from Class 6 to 12 for wards of defence personnel and civilians.

Established in 1925, RMS has campuses in Chail, Ajmer, Dholpur, Belgaum, and Bengaluru. The schools uphold the motto: Character is the Highest Virtue.
3. Admissions
Students are admitted into Class 6 and 9 through a Common Entrance Test (CET). Boys and girls aged 10–12 (for Class 6) and 13–15 (for Class 9) are eligible.

Sainik Schools
1. Introduction
Sainik Schools are premier residential institutions aimed at preparing students for entry into the NDA and other military academies. There are currently 33 such schools across India.
2. Expansion
The government has approved 100 new Sainik Schools in partnership with state governments, NGOs, and private institutions, greatly expanding access.
3. Admissions
Open to boys and girls for Class 6 (ages 10–12) and Class 9 (ages 13–15). Admission is through AISSEE, based on merit, e-counselling, and medical fitness.
